Just wanted to let you know that we are about to commence several weeks of greens maintenance on the course. We have a turf consultant that helps us understand what needs to be done to maintain the greens in the best condition. We need to do some work over the next few weeks to prepare for the summer playing season as well as part of the long term preparation for work that we will be doing next year. Some of the work that will be done over the coming weeks includes
- Grooming (already completed the first pass, but there will be more later)
- Coring
- Spraying
- Fertilising
- Grass replacement
As you can probably imaging, this is standard operating process for all golf courses. Our greens are probably our most valuable physical asset on the course, and maintaining them to be the best they can be is therefore very important.
The greens maintenance will not affect your ability to play the course, although of course the greens may behave differently than you have been used to.
