Golf Australia has once again announced its Play 9 Any Time competition for 2021. This is a great competition format for the Swan Reach Golf Club given that we already run a weekly 9-hole competition every Tuesday. The Play 9 Any Time format is the same as in previous years.
Win a spot in the 2021 Play 9 national final over the season of golf
28 golfers – four from South Australia – will win the chance to play nine holes at the Play 9 national final.
Those that qualify for the finals will win:
- Return flights to the event;
- 2 nights accommodation;
- $200 towards food and transport expenses;
- Entry to the Play 9 national final;
- Player gift pack;
- Attendance to the Play 9 function;
- Tickets to the associated national tournament over the summer of golf.
The qualifying period is from 1 June 2021 through to 15th November 2021.
Each time a player participates in a 9-hole comp, their name will go into the draw for a chance to attend either their state final, or directly to the national final. The card must be processed via GolfLink, so please make sure you complete your cards correctly and submit them after each comp.
Important: Please Read To Ensure You Qualify
To be eligible in the competition please ensure you have a Golf Australia account and select the tick box to receive offers and promotions. If you don’t have an account with this check box turned on, you will not be entered in the draw to play in the comp state final.
It is not easy to work out how to do this, so here are the instructions.
-
Login at https://www.golf.org.au/
- Create an account if you don’t have one. Select “receive offers and promotions’ when you register
-
Check that the marketing option is selected.
-
Go to your dashboard by clicking on your name in the top right hand corner

-
Switch from you handicap record to “my account” by clicking the menu option as shown below.

-
Scroll to the bottom and make sure the checkbox is on, as shown below

-
Entries Into the Comp
- Simply play in at least one official 9-hole competition at the club between 1 June 2021 – 15 November 2021.
- The more 9-hole comps you play, the more entries you will get.
- Entries to the state finals are based on a random draw, not based on the best results.
- 30 male and 30 female qualifiers will be randomly selected from the qualifying period to play in the South Australia Play 9 state final, where two leading male and two leading females will qualify for the national final.
- The state final will take place on Saturday 11 December 2021 at North Adelaide Golf Course.
You can play in as many nine-hole competitions as you like and each recorded nine-hole score in Golf Link during this time will constitute one entry into the state finals. In practice, this means you can enter as many times as you like!
